Question:

Did you have enough space for a Johnson F9B-9 pump?
If so, why not use one in lieu of a belt driven pump?

Just curious!

If we omitted the center hatch board , the original configuration left much to desired because engineers and designers dont think ,they just do. Went thru 3 volvo pumps that leaked and a Johnson crank mounted one that lasted about a year and that started leaking.

I service 2 28 Wellcraft Coastals that still have their original pump bodies after 28 years , These can run with belt slack out to almost 1 1/2 inches and I never run tight belts on them. On average a 1 inch of slack. no leaks so figured I could do the conversion so I wouldnt have to spend time rebuilding the volvo pump bodies.

Aside from the cut and weld on the PS adjuster the average owner could do it themselves. The bracket is available for $79 , scrounge up a pump body on ebay for less than $100 , add a impeller kit 18-3150 and your done.

Who knows, maybe they`ll send me the pully and bracket to modify for a donation or burn it to a CD with the instructions
