I am looking to ID a volvo inb
I am looking to ID a volvo inboard trans in my 18' lobster skiff. It is mated to a volvo 4 cyl gas inboard not sure what model that is either as I can not see any tags on either the trans. or the motor. The previous owner stated the trans. is a volvo gear with an 8 degree angle. Boat was custom built in 1996 so I'm assuming that is the year of the engine and trans. I need a gasket on the rear of the trans. it has a raw water leak. There are some numbers stamped in a couple of places on the trans but they look like casting numbers. I have found lots of info on line about volvo outdrives but nothing about inboard transmissions. Any suggestions on how to identify this gear would be greatly apreciated.
