Volvo AQ130 comfortable rev speeds

Hi guys, I've got a cruiser with twin AQ130's onto outdrives. I'm new to the Volvo engines and did not have any manuals when purchased. I'm trying to find out what are the recommended rev speeds I should adhere to i.e. when normal "chugging along river" for fuel economy, a "comfortable" rev speed when inshore and what would an expected "safe high" be, but without thrashing it etc?

Per the Volvo User's Manual for the AQ130, the max rpm is 5100 and the maximum recommend cruising speed for long periods of time is 300-500 rpm lower than the max engine speed. You WOT rpms with the boat "normally loaded" should be between 4500-5100 rpm.

Hope this helps!

I always tell my customers to take 20% off the WOT of that day and it should last a good long time. One doesn't want to beat those little 130 up to much but they're a very nice, good ol' engine. Make sure to retouque the head every year and set the valves after. 20K intake and 22K on the exhaust
