"My 2003 5.7 Gi (200 hours
"My 2003 5.7 Gi (200 hours) started the season without the power it had the previous season. It will run to about 4200 rpm (about 34 mph)but not 4700(about 40 mph)as it did the previous season. It runs smoothly except for a slightly rough idle. It starts easily when cold, but with some difficulty when hot. As advised by my mechanic, I have changed the fuel filter 3 times, put in Star Tron additive, and filled tank with new gas (we have E-10 on the Potomac). The problem didn't go away or get any better. I see black particles in the gas from the fuel filter when I changed it last. Bottom is not the problem with speed since I had it painted this Spring. I'd be greatful for any ideas.
Thanks, John"
