volvo 451a engine

Bought a birchwood 25 with volvo 451a engine.Unfortnatly the wiring was not there.I have fitted all relevant wiring and gauges but cannot find the oil sender. does anyone know where I should be looking? Thanks

Hi Guys I wondered why no replys.I dont suppose there is a 451a engine pretty stupid.Still looking for the oil sender unit that must exist ha ha Thanks roger
 
Hi and thanks I have had the engine running so no sign of oil but it is proving very allusive Next stage is to get a really strong light down there as Im very restricted either side of the engine thanks again and will post on here when and if I eventually find it Best Regards Roger
 
Could you be mistaken, and this is a 431A?
The A suggests that this is an AQ series engine/drive.

Look here, and see if you can find your engine.

I'm thinking that this is the 4.3L GM V-6.
If so, the oil pressure sending unit will be just to the Port side of the Ignition Distributor.
It would be SEQ #34 here:

Any wiring issues, and/or color codes, should be similar from one 4.3L to the next, if within the same year range.

Hi Yes it was my mistake It is A 431a ENGINE AND NOT 451 GAS 0R PETROL DEPENDING WHAT COUNTRY WE ARE IN.hAVENT BEEN TO THE bOAT LATELY SO STILL WILL STILL BE LOOKING THANKS REGARDS ROGER
