Voltage 12.4 at battery while running.

2005 Johnson 90 2 stroke. I am not well versed in electrical. I am having a charging issue. Motor running tested the battery at all rpm ranges and it reads 12.4. Motor running I unplugged the rectifier/regulator. On the regulator side two yellow wire plug showed 12.4 and the other wire .5
Tested the other side going into the stator and they both read 8.5 volts all at idle.

Any further help as to what is the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks yall. Happy Boating 🤪

Is your tach working? If not, I would suspect the Regulator/Rectifier is bad. A battery at rest should measure 12.2V and when running you should see 13.6V-14.2V at the battery. Have you cleaned and secured all connections? It's possible you have a corroded connection causing resistance.

Stator failed test and also took out the regulator. Changed both. Runs like a top now thanks for your response
