Vibration with drive trimmed up

Hi guys-
Was out today and noticed a new problem, when I have the drive trimmed up, maybe half way, I am getting a vibration, if I trim it down, it goes away. I am thinking the u-joints in the gimble housing.
What do you guys think?
Thanks, Mike

could also be gimbal bearing.only way is to not run it with it trimmed up,or pull the sterndrive and check the brg and u joints, and the bearings in the upper stern drive housing

you should never run the engine with the drive trimmed up more than a couple inches. Your trim limit switch must not be working.

Set the drive trim all the way down/in. Now trim it up for 3 seconds and see if you still have the vibration. 3 seconds is approximately the time until the trim limit, if working, will stop the drive.

Thanks for all the info. Just to clarify, The trim limit is working and set correctly. If I have the drive all the way down, there is no vibration, but if i trim it up, I get a vibration. Prob from half way thru to the point where the trim limit stops it. Would never run it any higher- in the "trailer" mode. I'm guessing either the gimble bearing or the u-joints. However, both are no more than 4 years old, w/ very little use.
Thanks
