Vapor Separator Question. What does it do.

1995 Johnson 115. I was just wonder what the vapor separator does. And if the needle valve was sticking what or the float had a problem, what would the symptoms be.

It would be flooding over out of it. Why do you ask ??

Or it would be stuck closed and no fuel to run the engine.

I have been having a problem with the bowls running dry. I just noticed that one of the wired were off the primer solenoid and it was not working. but I don't think that would have anything to do with my issue. I took the VRO apart today and everything looked good inside. also checked the Pulse Limiter and fine there to. I was testing with a 6 gallon tank from my jon boat..
