Valve tech fuel

Last week I was on a cruise and stoped at a local marina for fuel. They told me that they were selling valve tech and it was making a big difference reguarding the issues of fuel problems caused by ethonal. Has any one heard of this stuff and is it any good?

Being in the marine repair business, I know the Valve tech fuel is well worth the extra $. I have cleaned/rebuilt many carbs due to ethenol and fuel sitting up for more than a few weeks. In our area (Florida Panhandle) the Valve-tech we get at marinas is ethenol free.
It is all that I run in my 1995 454xl's. No problems with the fuel system yet.

When we ran out of Toms River, the marina we used always sold Valvtec fuel and we never had any fuel issues....In fact I wondered why so many other people did. I dont think it was Valvtec fuels but...we had no problems/ But then again, the boat gets more attention then anything else

Aqua Yacht Harbor on Pickwick Lake on the Tennessee river sells Valtec fuel with no ethanol. I had to get some fuel about 3 years ago at another marina. It had ethanol. It turned my fuel dark redish orange. It took several fillings before it cleared up. It also resulted in two rebuilt carbs. Needless to say I haven't been back there.

I used valvetech in the past, but have switched to BIOBOR EB for my boats gasoline engines. This product does it all, and is actually certified by the US Coast Guard. Costs less to treat same amount of fuel. They also produce BIOBOR JF for all diesel engines, and they produce a marine version called BIOBOR MD if you live in cold weather as it formulated to stop gelling and improves cetane for better cold starts. I use the JF in my diesel truck and have not had to change the fuel filter out in 50,000 miles. 16oz treats 1280 gallons of diesel and adds only a penny per gallon cost. Cheap insurance in my book!

Ethanol free, and you are paying through the nose for it too if your buying at a marina! If you can but gasoline from a normal service station to fill your boat tanks from, save the money and buy Biobor EB as this will treat the fuel and eliminate the ethanol problems 100% for less than a 6-7 cents a gallon. Compare the $$ cost of ethanol free gas at the marinas against service station prices + 6-7 cents a gallon adding Biobor EB. Huge price difference!
