What exactly does the vaccum switch do in the fuel system of a carbed motor?

Warns of a restriction in fuel line between fuel pump and fuel in the tank.

Oh ok. I wondered if it had anything to do with fuel pressure in the vro with all the trouble I’ve been having trying to figure my motor out. I crimped the fuel line the other night to see if I got a check engine light & alarm & did so I’m good there. Thanks.
