"Hi all,
I am in the process of listing all the parts i need to purchase to rebuild my V8. I have a slight problem, in the way i have no way of telling whether the engine is a 5.0 or 5.7 or what age the engine actually is. There are no numbers anywhere on the engine, ive been told there should be a brass plate at the top of the rear of the engine, below the distributer, but nothing. The engine is out of the boat and ive been over it over and over to no avail! The engine had a single rochester 2 barrel sat on top and the earlier type manifolds and risers. It was connected to a 290 Single prop drive with hydraulic trim tilt. Is there anyway of cross referencing from the drive to get age etc.
