hallo
my 4.3 gl is overheating and i don t know why . only fresh water . i run a 4.3 gla with an old volvo 280 powertrim
i took a plastic bag in my sterndrive .
so i change :
- head gasket with this thread (head verified , top of the block verified )
http://www.marineengine.com/boat-forum/showthread.php?447433-head-bolt-change&p=616333#post616333
- intake gasket
- impeller (bearin , spie gasket , gasket)
- thermostat
- spark plugs
flushed and rinsed with the garden hose (i can connect it direct to the hose coming fron the sterndrive to the block ) : block and stern drive
my exhaust are clean = manifold 5 ou 6 seasons , elbow 3 season (the boat never stays more than 3 days on water . and i pull off the water when it s on the trailer
i ve tried with 2 differents temerature coming from volvo and working on a mu another boat (sender and gauge)
i ve checked my torque for the head
before removing head , i ve pulle off the oil = no water , and no "cream " on the head cover
during one hour the temperature can be fine and at one moment it start to rise to the top of the thermo !! sometimes in 5 min !!
cruising quickly ou slowy
wake board ou nothing
the engine is running fine
the only way to cool the engine is :
no cluch on the sterndrive , and running the engine few seconds (3 to 5s) to 3500 rpm . and you see the temperature falling down very quicly !!
have you any ideas !!!!!!
