hi all and gday
i am new to this forum and was hoping for some advice.
i have just purchased a 90 hp v4 cross flow of roughly 1984 it is already over sized and has had a partial seizure of the bottom right piston caused by running lean on that cylinder everything else is in really good condition.
i also have what i believe to be a 1988 v4 110 power head that is at the same size bore with only about 10 hours running with a rusty crank can i use the pistons and rods from the 110 and use them in the 90, and the exhaust on the 110 has a large power bulge whereas the 90 is flat would i benefit from using it as well and would there be any difference in carburetors
thanks
rod

Use the 110 block / carburetors / pistons .-------------Install your 90 HP crank /rods in it.----------Leave the tuned exhaust on the 110 blockand use the 110 carburetors.----------As I read the post , your 90 needs cylinder work . You say the cylinders of the 110 have 10 hrs on them, so I would use that.

the 110 was rebuilt but the heads were warped and it was stripped down and not stored well my mate thought that spraying the bores and crank with wd40 would be good enough and they have all rusted the bore on the 90 have a small amount of alluminium stuck on it from the melt down i will hone and measure both blocks but also the 110 has a damaged exhaust diverter it wasnt replaced on last rebuild this is how i got the motors

OK laid it all out and the 110 has a stripped head bolt and 2 broken exhaust bolts the bore seems to have cleaned up well just one dam exhaust diverter is screwed .
the 90 has a broken head bolt and some aluminium transfer on the bore with a lil patience it will be usable as well , both are at 30 thou over .
have noticed that the heads on the 90 are a higher compression than the 110 because it has a smaller chamber design
so i guess i will use the higher compression heads will work on the blocks tomorrow

ok not happy with thte 90hp bore has mild scoring and the 100 does not easy choice but i hate broken bolt removal .

so can any one advise to which head would be better the 90 hp heads are of a more closed chamber style than he the 110 hp heads would useing these be of any bennifit
thanks rod
