"I've got an 89 Checkmate
"I've got an 89 Checkmate Starflite w/a Mercury V200 Black Max.She's been trouble free until last weekend when my volt guage started to drop.A couple minutes later the stereo started to cut out,at this time my guage was reading 'empty'.I stopped at the closest marina,waited 15 minutes,and tried to restart.Click,click,nothing.I connected my portable jumperbox,a weak crank,then done.Had to take her out,and tow her home.Inside the garage now,with a fresh battery,she fired off,but still the guage and the readouts on the multimeter were slowly,steadly dropping.I don't want to go the 'buy and try' route,are there any suggestions?Common part failures on this engine model?Help!"
