Upper shift linkage came out?????

Anyone know what I gotta do to get this linkage back in? I don’t even know how the hell it came out

I believe it’s 1969 mercury 65HP 650 thunderbolt 4 Cylinder. This aside I can’t even find any info on even removing the carbys either
