Upper oil seal

Can the lower seal be replaced from the bottom w/o pulling the gears?

Can the upper seal be replaced w/o pulling the lower bearing race?

Can the upper gears be reassembled using the old shims w/o re-setting the lash?

Simply replacing the seals should not require shimming
the lower seal in the upper unit can be replaced by dropping the lower unit and prying/hooking, small slide hammer, etc to remove the small seal. The upper oil control seal requires the vert shaft be removed , and that requires the horiz shaft be removed
and the seal is driven into the case to remove it ,
