Hi all. Just had a quick ques

Hi all. Just had a quick question about U-joints. My boat is a 1973 Mercruiser with the 250 Chevy six. I need to replace the u-joints and saw some on the Go-2 Marine page that say they fit Mercruiser #1 and Alpha 1. Mine is a #1 right? The Part # is 182104 and it replaces Merc. #s 75832A2 and 75832T. Does this sound like they will work? Are the Sierra joints good?

"Hi Eric, fellow inliner here.

"Hi Eric, fellow inliner here.. yes the Sierra Joints are good, lifetime warranty, have you changed u-joints before ? on a GM car or truck ? same thing, can be a little tricky."

"I have changed u-joints on Mo

"I have changed u-joints on Mopars and Fords. Different clips or something? Does the description look right?....that they fit a #1. Is mine a #1? I am not to "up" on the titles.

Thanks,
Eric"

"yea, the marine u-joints use

"yea, the marine u-joints use clips, use either propane or MAPP gas to heat up the yoke, you dont want to hammer them to much, damages the loops and causes premature damage.
yes you have a #1 drive with 1.65:1 gear ratio"
