First thanks to all on this gr

First thanks to all on this great forum I have kept my 1990 Volvo 290DP and 350CI GM engine in top shape using the search feature. My latest repair is to replace the U joints I was able to remove the first U joint with a socket and a c clamp. The U joint closest to the upper gear assembly is my problem can it be removed whith the yoke still attached to the upper gear assembly

Rob I am replacing just the bearing inserts and the cross not the whole u joint I wanted to avoid taking the whole u joint and yoke assembly out of the outdrive but cannot get the c clamp on the bearing caps closest to the outdrive to press out the bearing cap. I boat out of Brick NJ so I have until april for the nice weather. I don't need to rush so I am leaning toward removing the whole assembly I can get it in a vise and press the old bearings out and put new ones in alot easier that way
