I have a sea ray 330 1996, Mercruiser 7.4 EFI direct drives, port side engine wound't start , seems to have firing problem, are the to engines RH or e LH or one and one, any one is familiar with this ? Thank You

Find a different mechanic..... seriously!Thank you, need to start alover , mecanik tought it was a RH motor and hooked up RH, now pump waterpump blocked
The distributor will rotate CW regardless of engine rotation.plug wires go clockwise on the dist 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2
Rotation is determined as though viewing from the flywheel.
In other words, a Std LH Rotation engine's flywheel would rotate CCW when viewed from that end.
If viewed from the front, the crankshaft would rotate CW.

The distributor will rotate CW regardless of engine rotation.
The above firing order is correct for a STD LH engine.
It will be reversed for a REV RH engine, still beginning with #1..... as in > 1 2 7 5 6 3 4 8 ..... and again, in the CW direction.
So, but because its a 1996, it wil be a standerd one

At some point Mercs (with twins) went with Std LH Rotation engines (both Port and Starboard), and with what is referred to as an “opposite of engine rotation” transmission.
Which way do they spin with the starter motors????
