"Hey'all, I'm new to the site, but not new to motors. Not too familiar with volvo though. I have twin aq140's in my boat and a new fuel tank. I have one feed line going to my filter's, and then two lines from the filter's (one to each motor). I don't seem to be pulling fuel from the tank to the fuel pump on either motor. If I squirt gas down the carbs of either motor, they'll run for a sec. then die of course. Is it possible that both fuel pumps are junk? I've tried disconnecting each hose one at a time and hooking it up directly to the feed line on the tank as well. Any suggestions? Should I have to run a primer bulb?"

"Try feeding the fuel pumps fr

"Try feeding the fuel pumps from a gas jerrycan, that will tell you whether the problem is in the fuel tank or fuel line from the tank to the pumps.

This may not be your case, but when I got a new fuel tank built in aluminum a couple of years ago, they installed the fuel line fitting at the top of the tank (as required by marine regulations) but they forgot to run a suction pipe from the fitting to the bottom of the tank!!! Luckily, I spotted it before installing the tank on the boat (under deck)."

"A few things to check... Is the fuel filter installed correctly, i.e., is the input of the fuel filter connected to the tank and the output to the engines? Is there a shut off at the tank ??? A hose/primer bulb is handy diagnostic tool when used in conjunction with a safe container. Install hose/primer on the line to the tank at the filter and see if you can pull fuel... Ifso, reattach fuel line to filter and run the check after the filter..."
