Trying to locate model# on 50hp mercury

I recently acquired a 50hp mercury outboard motor and can't locate the model#. Serial # OD000469 3 cylinder. Help please as I need this number for registration in my home state.

I'm assuming you can't find the plate that is on the transom bracket? All my serial and model numbers are on that plate. maybe its missing or painted over?

No the plate is there but it only has the serial number on it.

Call any Merc dealer or contact them direct through their website. Tell them what you need and give them the serial number - they will cough up the model number from that.
