trying to locate an exhaust fitting

Hi All, I'm looking for a replacement exhaust fitting. The fitting is where the exhaust exits the manifolds and hits a cast iron pipe that has a sweeping Y. the cast iron Y is about 24in wide and it basically takes the exhaust from the manifolds and routes it to the hull side where it connects to my fiberglass exhaust pipe that run along the hull.

The picture shows the pipe/fitting at the back of the motor. Mine are heavily rusted, and would like to get rid of them. I'm having the motors pulled and will repower with newer crusdaers and I want to have everything new and fresh. Is there a replacement for this, or a fiberglass equivalent.

Think you hit the wrong board.

That said, I'd suggest getting the dimensions on your new exhaust BEFORE changing anything. Those older log elbows are usually 3" and most of the newer stuff is 4".

Also, with the short distance, before the "turn", I'd say you want metal, not plastic, for the new stuff, especially for what I think is the outboard manifold. Dumping straight into a T - that close - isn't wise. It may be ok as long as there is an agressive slope (vertical drop) in that area.

If you have a good metal shop in the neighborhood, see if they have any stainless tube. Another option would be an exhaust shop that works on diesel trucks; they have access to 4" stainless and maybe a mandrel bender, too.

It may be easier to get a sweep 90 and a separate T, too. more parts but maybe easier install.

One last thought, the newer stuff also uses center risers instead of the log style exhausts. These will have the hose connection point further forward. That another reason for checking the Old vs New dimension changes.

Hi, Sorry for posting this in the wrong section. I wasn't thinking, I have a Chris Craft commander 315 1989yr. I didn't realize this section is for Chris Craft motors. The motor is a crusader 270 , I thought the exhaust piping was boat specific. I'll have to make them up with a sweep y and t like MM stated.

Truth is exhaust systems are by style. You pictured starboard side flywheel aft.
Chris Craft employed this style in larger boats. I know I have one and a complete set of spare exhaust

Hey thanks for the link, will shoot off an email to them. I saw they have fiberglass fittings, I could use a Y and 90 degree and save the weight of the cast iron. Its cool they have dimensions of the various fittings, I can then "draw up" what I need.
