Trying to install new beltsNeed help

"2000 Volvo 5.0 GL. It seems simple enough but I am having problems determining how to remove the water pump (if I even have to) in order to install both belts. There is also a bracket attached to the water pump hoses that runs deep into the engine. I am also only able to reach 3 of the 4 bolts on the water pump intake. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help. If anyone knows where I can download a maintenance guide for this engine, please let me know. Thanks for the help!

As far as I can recall, you don't need to remove the pump, just the hoses and the bracket (part 3).

Regarding maintenance, I strongly recommend that you buy the Seloc manual for VP sterndrives (1992-2003 models). Alternatively, you can download the operator's manual from the Volvo Penta website, but it only describes basic maintenance. Check for your model in the "marine engine" dropdown menu.

"Thank you El! My neighbor came over and located the bracket bolts for me. I was able to complete the installation after removing the bracket and hoses. I appreciate your help and information. I am not a very good mechanic but also do not agree with some of the labor charges through dealers! The job only took 1 hour, which would have cost me an additional $110.00. You are an invaluable asset!!!!"
