"I am trying to track down what kind of engine I have in my 1974 Glasply model 19100. There is no serial number plate anywhere on the engine and the only numbers I have been able to find are the block number 2770087 and 42673C1 on the oposite side of the engine from the distributor. I want to get a manual so that I can finish my fix-ups and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have included a few pictures in hopes that will help.

"No, the 42673C1 numbers are from the port side of the engine. The little pad there had 3 numbers on it, but it is so old that they are not readable. I have attached a picture of the port side showing where the 42673C1 is stamped.

"the right side or starboard side where the distributor is, is where you want to look for the numbers, try cleaning with a scotch pad. any other numbers on the block wont help, especially from the left side or port side."

"Yes, that is correct, this has fresh water cooling.

I will clean away and see if I can pull any more numbers off the starboard side.

Thanks again."

"Ayuh,...

Just look at the crankshaft pulley...
If it's the 2.5l, it's Just a Pulley...
If it's a 3.0l,.. There's the Pulley,+ a Harmonic Balancer..."
