"Hello,
I wrote in a week ago or so,My question is I have a 2000 9.9 4 stroke kicker motor that I just bought and had profesionally gone through, motor ran for 45 minutes strong and just shut down-no symptons. Would start if left over night and just cut out in less than 10 sec then no spark. I was told prabably the power pack, my question is how do I troubleshoot the power pack. I will pay for a power pack but wouldnt be happy if that wasnt the case as a new power pack will cost me 361.00. I saw a lot of posts that said to disconnect the red harness, where does the red harness hook to because I have electrical tape over all wiring. Please help!!!"

I do not think You have a &#39

I do not think You have a 'red harness'. It refers first of all to engines with electric start and secondly to the old contact/harness systems. You have probably Deutz contacts. You might try to disconnect the yellow/black stop circuit going into the power pack.

"Disconnected the yellow/black

"Disconnected the yellow/black wire going to power pack still not starting, Is that telling me that its the power pack. Also I tried to remove the power pack under the fly wheel and doesnt want to come out, do I need to pull anything else to slip it out, looks like I should have enough room. If I buy a new power pack is there a good place on the web to buy from."

"It should be no problem getti

"It should be no problem getting it out, but it has to go a little down before You may pull it out.
I have not seen this PP as aftermarket part on the web, only from BRP."

"BRP parts means an OEM. Deale

"BRP parts means an OEM. Dealer item only.
Try to 'turn' the fly whell slowly by hand, it might be an opening that makes it possible to get out. Long time since I changed them, but never had to remove anything else."
