1987 150 i changed a bad crank shaft on my motor. its all back together. took out the vro and went with older style pump with pre mix...i got it to start...idles at about 2200...idles a tiny bit rough...i know too high but thats a minor adjustment. i shut it down to see if it restarts...no luck. it just cranks...i sqeeze the bulb...it seems firm but fuel will come out of the carb when i do...why wont it restart? how can i trouble shoot this?

ok i adjusted the floats now now fuel pours from the carbs and the bulb stays hard....still wont start....i just realized i screwed up...there are 2 similiar gaskets for the carbs...one goes in front between the carb and the silencer base and one goes behind the carbs between the carb and the intake manifold....i switched them accidentally....can this be giving me all this grief??????????????

ok carb floats are reset..motor starts up only in full throttle...when i drop it to idle it stalls...sparks are good...now what?

ok heres what i got. i checked the idle timing and its dead on with the "triangle with an exclamation point and a 1 next to it" on the flywheel.
what does that symbol mean?

Is it possible I have the #1 and #5 ignition coil wires switched? Wouldn't the #5 cylinder fire somewhere in that area?

you can have what ever. dont ever wash your cylinders with starting fluid to get a 2 stroke going. if recoil wear out the rope if e start then the starter if ether then the whole engine. it may not be tommorow or next week but you will know
