Motorguide for me... Why? Because that's what I have and I've never had any problems with it... It's an older 46lb unit and it always functions flawless... Does that mean it's any better than anything else out there? Nope... Just means I know I can depend on it so why chance it?

I prefer an evinrude. I upgraded from a 24lb thrust 12/24v system to a 56 lb straight 24v. I like them because most of the components are metal and very durable. They are a bit more expensive than some brands.
