Older model 1980 Mercury Black Max 150
Trim motor with what looks like 1 solenoid.
No issues with trim when used the motor two weeks ago. Went to trim before going on the water and it got stuck going down. Had to remove battery terminals to shut off.
Opened up switch on the throttle, everything seems in order. Removed blue and green wire, no trim up or down. Put blue wire back on, switch controls trim up no problem. Soon as I connect the green wire it starts trimming down by itself. Fluid level seems fine and wires all seem good. Swapped wires around and still trims down without using the switch.
Would this be a bad solenoid? Anyone know if this motor has relays?
