trim-up fix needed.HELP!88 XR2 BLK MAX.

i HAVE A 1988 PROCRAFT bassboat with mercury 150 xr2 black max. had for six years, no major problems,replaced the banks two years ago is about it. Last spring first trip, motor wouldn't trim up. Have checked both solenoids. trim switch on throttle, connections, anything I can think of. No luck. heard about relays in johnsons n evinrudes.but not merc's. NEED HELP. TIME TO GO FISHING. THANKS.

Is there a remote tilt switch on the engine? Yes? Does it go up and down? Yes? Then the problem is in the throttle. If you switch the 2 solenoids did it go up but not lower? If yes, then one solenoid is bad...replace both. Inside of the throttle handle near the bottom is the location of the switch connectors. Did you open it to see if the wire connectors are tight fitting? Did you test the switch w/a volt/ohmmeter?
