trim,tilt not moving

I have a mid 80's 60 hp evinrude . my trim and tilt are not moving up or down . I have checked and cleaned the relays and i can hear buzzing when i hit the switch either way. The relays are activating as i left one uncovered and can see the points moving, everything is just frozen.This happened to me last season but then towards the end of the season it just started working again. And now wont move again. Any suggestions appreciated.Also is there anyway to disable the trim,tilt so I can move the motor manually and use the boat .Thx

Give your t/t mtr a few raps with a small hamer and see what happens. There should be a mauual release valve on the side of one of the stern brackets. Slotted screw.

you might also trace the wiring from the trim motor and find the connections and clean them to make surre they are making good contact. good luck.
