trim & tilt 1974 115hp

Hi,i've got a 1974 johnson 115hp but i didn't have trim & tilt,now i've found a trim & tilt from a 1980 115 hp,someone of you knows if it works ok????thank youif isn't work what can i do to install the trim & tilt on this motor???thanks

If your two transom mount brackets each have the three (3) PTT mounting holes, the unit will work. If those mounting holes aren't there, don't waste your time trying to mount that unit.

If you have the PTT assembly, look at the side of the unit. You'll see three threaded holes which are mounting holes.

The two brackets that bolt the engine to the boat are called transom brackets. On each transom bracket, if the engine will accept the PTT assembly, there will be three corresponding holes on each transom bracket a short distance up from the row of holes known as the reverse lock rod holes.

so i checked my transom bracket is different,but i didn't have the holes,so if i take the transom bracket from the same motor where i take the trim & tilt,should work???????
