Trim Switch not working again

My trim switch on the handle of my throttle quick working. it would move the motor up, but not down. I bought a Binnacle Trim switch from Marine Engine a month ago and replaced it on my boat. it worked perfect for 3or 4 trips out. I was out this weekend and the switch is doing the same thing. it will go up, but not down. Did my switch go bad again or is there another possible issue. The model on my Wellcraft 180 fisherman is J115VLSSS. Also the trim switch on the side of my motor works fine.

I wonder who advised you to replace the PTT switch assembly?

This problem sounds more like (and usually is) a faulty relay... there are two.

Relay Test: Unless you already know where the PTT junction box is.... Trace the PTT electric motor wires back to the PTT junction box and take the cover off of it. The relays should be obvious... switch them. Now if the problem has been reversed (motor goes down & not up), that tells you that one of those relays has gone bad and needs replacing.

I just switched the 2 relays and it is doing the same thing. It goes up but not down from switch on throttle handle. Switch on motor works fine

Never mind. I started wiggling some wires connections under the relays and it started to work. Looks like I have something loose

The above proves that the relay junction box itself is okay.

Disconnect the PTT Switch at its connector. Check that you have continuity between the PTT switch RED wire and the other two wires (Blue (up)... (Green (Dn) when the switch is pressed in the proper selection.

Then, if needed, check for a break in the "Green" (down) wire between the PTT switch and it's connection to the relay junction box.
