Trim Solenoid, should it 'click' both ways?-Trim issues

Ive been having an intermittent issue with my trim... it always goes up, but doesnt always go down.

i pulled out the solenoid today, and found one terminal extremely corroded.


I cleaned up the terminals and put it all back together. The Trim seems to be functioning correctly right now.. *although of course i forgot to test it before i was messing around with it...

Even though its working correctly, i noticed the solenoid only clicks when i attempt to move the trim in one direction.

Is this normal? or is that a sign the solenoid is on its way out?

If only one (1) solenoid is used...............

The tilt/trim solenoid is functional "only" when in the "up" (blue wire) mode.

When in the down mode, voltage is applied directly to the electric motor via the "green" wire.
