Hello.I recently purchased a 1978 searay 20 ft. with the chevy 350/260 mercruiser.the outdrive wont drop..does the trim pump have a baffle of some sort that separates the resevoir? Is it possible that the lowering function could be low on fluid even if the holding tank appears to be full?

Have you tried Standing On the drive while somebody hits the Down button,.???

The trim pump is a Low Pressure system in the Down mode,+ High Pressure in the Up mode.......

Your problem is Usually related to the Drive hanging on it's pivots,... Or the Rams are Stuck,+ Need alittle Help......"

Thanks Bondo..I will do just that..the boat had been sitting for about a year before I bought it..and the trim pump oil was gone..I live in Las Vegas and the heat plays hell with things that are left out.Im hoping that when my manual gets here..it will have the proper procedure for bleeding the system..maybe its just air in the down side...thanks again.....

"I'd sooner think that you have Binding Issues with the Pivot Pins,.....
Grease them up, Real Good for starters....

The procedure for Bleeding the system is to Run it Up,+ Down 8 to 10 times,.........
Ayuh,.......
It's Self-Purging......... Pretty Simple Eh,..??....."
