Trim problems with 1985 115hp mariner

Took boat out yesturday and it ran great. Stopped to raise prop and it wouldnt raise but it would still lower, i could here it make clicking noises when i would hit the switch. The bilge pump wasnt working correctly. we were able to get the boat barley out of the water and pull the plug to drain the water. We were going to have to leave the boat there because if we put it on the hitch the prop would hit. I gave it one last try and it worked and we raised the prop and went home after sitting in the water for an hour trying to find the screw to raise the prop manually. Any one know why the prop wouldnt raise in the water and then all of a sudden raise when out of the water. Kinda wierd i think but i need help with this problem. Thanks

If you can hear the relay/solenoid click when you hit the up switch, the problem is probably with the wiring from the relay/solenoid to the trim motor- have a good look. The up wire is blue, or blue/white.
