Trim level on Tach multimeter remains always in zero position

Hi, I have a new Yamaha F30BET and the multimeter TACH 6Y8. The trim level on TACH was blinking on highest position so I recalibrate it to 0% (full trim down position of the engine) following the TACH meter manual instruction. Now, the trim level indicator still remains to lowest level whatever position I trim my engine. I check the trim sensor and is lubricated and the spring seems to work fine. It's a brand new engine. What other parts to check?

Does the trim sender vary its resistance appropriately as the motor is raised and lowered?

Have the sender wires been connected to the digital data network?
