E200TXEDR 1996, Customer brought in boat with trim problem, another mechanic is working on it, he ask me if I'd post. Trim going up but not down.
Trim motor is working in both directions when not mounted, trim unit held in vice on work bench, it will go all the way up , but when you swap wires around, pump runs but no downward travel at all. Mechanic has yrs. of experience, said he's never seen this. Can't really find a break down of fluid flow in cylinder body. Explained this to customer, he asked what do you think.said it's possibility that valve body assy. Is bad but it's $400-$500 . he said I'll order one he got it for $300 and change. Still the same thing. Now the filter under Allen plug next to where reservoir bolts up was trashed. Any help would be appreciated.
Is there a possibility there is a freeze crack in internal vanes?
