Trim Help

Hello,

I just purchased a boat for the first time and I am trying my best to fix it myself. I have ran into an issue.

Every YouTube video I have seen shows the trim limit plugs into the trim pump. The pump has two female connectors and the wire has two male connectors

Then the other connection point for the sender has one male and one female connector.

The issue is that mine are backwards and I can't find one single other video or form that says it's ok. Coming off my pump at the end of the purple and blue wires, I have one male and one female connector. Then where the sender plugs in, I have two female connectors. Can I plug them in backwards or do I have to cut and splice all the wires to flip the connectors. I can't even find a limit switch online that comes with one male and one female connector:(

Does anyone have any ideas on why my boat is like this, I'm struggling with this.

the sender is usually wired on the engine not the pump the limit is connected to the pump
highly doubtful your wiring has been modified

For more context, my boat is a 2001 Searay bowrider wirh a mercury mercruiser 3.0. Here are the photos for reference of what all I am looking at. I am going to look for the serial number and all that now. I will post again when I find them!

I have just posted some photos down below, I am not sure what all I am looking at, it could be user error and I could be looking at the wrong places, I am just going off of Youtube videos and I feel as if my boat does not have the same wiring as all the others

The sender wires go,

one goes to ground the other connects to the wire that connects to trim gage.

Sender is a variable resister type device.

The trim limit is a on off switch. Those two wires go to connections near or at pump. Polarity does NOT matter. Its only a switch

Based on your photos the connections look correct. the sending wires one male and one female still follow what I typed above. One goes to sender and one goes to ground.

The trim limit wires just plug them in! The blue wires are the correct connections. No polarity, just plug them in.

I would also check belts, Lots of black dust all over everything and remove Flame arrestor, (air Filter) and clean thoroughly inside to out with hot soapy water or brake parts cleaner
