Trim Gauge Problem

My Suzuki trim gauge started sticking. I can trim the motor up or down but the gauge does not move until a few seconds or up to a few minutes. Could it be that the sensor is sticking? Where do I start looking/ how do I test?

I agree. Start at the sensor. Located between the transom brackets up high, close to the steering tube. Also you can test it with a OHM meter. Thanks Martin
