transom mount / Ring Shaft U bolt torque ?

Just replaced this whole setup last year; transom mount, Ring, Gimbal etc - due to a worn Ring.

How tight should I tighten the U bolt each year to minimize future wear ?

Retorque to 40 ft. lb. (54 N·m)

BT - 53 ft lbs right ?

Do 48 ftlbs .....split the differnce and you should be good!!

Just re-torqued this U bolt and damn! even though it was installed new last season - it needed be tightened !

After spending all that money, it would be a horror for this to happen again. It's a bitchy, expensive job !

My point in mentioning this...

SEASONALLY - CHECK THE U BOLT THAT HOLDS THE GIMBAL RING TIGHT TO THE STEERING SHAFT !!!!!
