Transom gap

Hey everyone I just picked up another pontoon after mine got wrecked and I have this gap between the top of the transom and the top of the mount. Would this cause issues?its a 88 mariner 90hp.

Are you talking about the motor not sitting directly onto the top of the transom? If so, that is completely normal. Actually, it is the way that the vast majority of motors are mounted.

Yes there's about a 2 inch gap there. Thank you for that info it definitely makes me feel better.
