I'm upgrading the size of my motor. I have a 1975 50HP Evinrude, and I'm looking at upgrading to a 1981 90HP Evinrude.
My question is, are the brackets that bolt onto the transom the same size and same bolt pattern? Or will I need to fill in the previous holes and drill all new holes in my transom (not preferred for obvious reasons).
The new one has power tilt/trim, which will have 2 additional holes either side. But I'm wondering if I can use the existing holes for the body of the motor.
