Trans rotation

Why would you want to change transmission rotation, Can t you just change prop from left to right hand screw ? I really am not sure but I thin k I am going to have the same trouble as I have to replace my engine and I THINK I just bought a good used 305 RH rotation and I THINK that the engine in my boat now is LH rotation. I am interested in any posts on this.
 
Iv learned a lot f you have a C c with flywheel forward mounted engins the port / left engine must run Rh and or oposit rotashion and the starbord runs Lh reg rotashion no you can not swich the props and t would depend on wich engine and you have to get enother prop eney way this all started cus I think someone got a rebuilt Lh engine and put it in the port side on mine when thay fould out it was wrong thay gave up on the boat iv find out now f I need to I can open the trans and turn the pump arould to make the prop shaft run the otherway if needed I'm still working on the boat .
 
So your problem is that both engines are LH engines. I understand that you can change the transmission rotation by reversing the pump, from what I hear. That way you will have opposite rotation propellers. I've also read that there is a engine "kick" problem that having opposite turning engines seem to cancel. I do not know how that would effect your application of 2 LH engines. It may have little or no trouble at all. In your case, since engines can run thousands of dollars, I'd run with what I have. Too bad we couldn t switch engines, as I really wanted a LH and bought a RH engine. I can t wait for the weather to change so I can get started on my boat project. We still have about 4 " of snow.:cool: Thanks a lot for your support.
