guy's,what is the torque sequence,and values to marry the 2- transom plates together on a 1987 alpha-1.thanks.

Ayuh,... Never set the torque on those bolts,...
Just tighten 'em Evenly til Tight...
Probably 45 or 50ft.lbs...

thanks for that but also when you try and select rev it sounds like it is bouncing along the teeth
before you can get it in would no grease do that

That bouncing along the teeth noise that you describe is because you are slowly sliding the selector into gear. You should speed up your engaging to avoid this but refrain from just ramming it into gear. By trying to ease it into gear you are actually doing more damage than being a bit more firm with your shifting.
