too much winterizing?

I have this done every November and then take it to the lake to run a bit in April before taking it out 30 miles to the halibut hole. This year it makes the smoke runs a bit and stops. I've started it a dozen times and it won't burn off the excess oil. Is there another way to clean that out? Its oozing out the prop! The multiple mushroom clouds were popular on "earth day" out on the lake!!!

It usually smokes once and goes.
thanks all

No mention of what motor you are talking about here.-----------Sounds like you may have a sticking float valve or a ruptured diaphragm on the fuel pump ( 2 stroke motor ), these are easily repaired.

Sorry, it's a carburated Merc 150 saltwater 2 stroke. It's getting to be 10 years old at this point. I changed that diaphragm a couple years ago but those don't seem very robust really. I think it's trying to fire it's just overcome by all the oil they fogged into the motor.

Can I spray something in there and hand crank it to blow it out?? I can see it getting into the exhaust, but do ya think it can get into the intake too?

Winterizing oil clears out in a matter of a minute or so.-------No need to use " mechanic in a can " here to clear this up.----Check to see if you have a carburetor flooding / hole in a diaphragm or perhaps check oil injection system for over oiling !

Check for pressure in the oil tank after the engine has been shut down for 5 minutes or so. If there is still pressure, The oil take pressure check valve may be bad. $15 part will cause the engine to over oil.
