Too much stabilizer

"morning guys, i have a Nitro

"morning guys, i have a Nitro with a Merc 150XR. Do you think it's possible to put too much stabilizer in the gas tank when winterizing? also, does the oil in the reservoir ever go bad? Nothing in my operator's manual addresses the oil, so I assume oil has a long shelf life."

"Jeff, how much stablizer is too much? I have never heard of any adverse affects from stablizer, but have always followed the recommendation on the bottle.

The oil in the reservoir is fine from one season to the next, it doesn't absorb moisture like gas does..."

"Thanks Graham...I think I may have doubled up the dose. I haven't been running my gas motor that often, so I treated a tank back in August I think, ran it down to 1/2 tank, filled up for winter and then treated all 25 gallons. So, about 1/2 my tank got a double dose."
