We'll need a better explanation than that..... When is the last time it ran properly... what has been done to the engine since it began acting up... does it start normally or do you need to prime it (fuel in a spray bottle)... has it been sitting, and if so, how long... how long does it run before dying, etc? Anything you can think of.

First, check your compression. Then check your spark to make sure it will jump a 7/16" open air gap on a spark tester.

Last week got back from boat shop replaced key in flywheel run great for two hours loaded up died on lake compression good spark is good cleaned carbs replaced fuel lines fresh fuel trys to start won't run starter is weak

Engine needs to turn over between 200-300RPM for stator to produce an ignition spark. You need a fully charged battery. Charge battery slowly overnight on a low setting roughly 8 hours ,top off electrolyte before charging and keep an eye on it while charging, If electrolyte is below lead plates ,your battery might be history.

Whoa, what's this about replacing the flywheel key? That should never be necessary unless the flywheel has at some time been incorrectly installed, causing the key to shear. And when it shears, it usually causes damage to the flywheel and/or crankshaft. Those damaged parts will be a curse forever on. Maybe it sheared again.

The key had wear wasn't off enough to change timing more than a few degree a boat shop found this and fixed it. New key polishes taper new nut torque to specs, timing reset to specs.
