Tohatsu MSF4B Fuel pump

I have a 4hp Tohatsu that I acquired a few years ago. It was severly neglected when I got it. I've done lots of work on it and it runs, although not always reliably. Recently the fuel pump has stopped working. The motor will start and run, but boggs down unless I pump the prime bulb on the external tank every few mintues. Note it is a relatively new fuel pump (about 2 years old). I took the fuel pump off and it pumps fuel if I push the knob in by hand. However, once reattached to the motor it doesn't work. I recently changed the impeller and had a lot of difficulty getting the foot of the motor back on. I ended up using a borescope to get everything lined back up.
My question is what portion of the camshaft makes contact with the mechanical fuel pump to operate it? I've looked at diagrams of the camshaft and can't really make it out. There is a lobe/knob on the camshaft that sits a little lower that I believe engages the push rod to operate the valve. Is this also supposed to engage the fuel pump? If so, it seems to be misaligned.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks! I ended up taking the pump off and doing a more thorough test of it. I replaced the gasket/diaphragm and check valves and it is working now.
