Hi everyone, I’ve got a Tohatsu M30A4 2 Stroke 2009 that will not run properly, it’s very hard to start, when it does run it’ll run for a few seconds before dying and becoming incredibly hard to start with an electric starter. I’ve pulled the plugs and cranked it over whilst the coil leads were connected and the spark looks very weak. The engine ran perfectly fine about 4 years ago before it was put into storage. I cleaned all the earth points, cleaned the carburettor, replaced sparkplugs, and still nothing. Fuel mixture is good, compression is good it’s got me stumped. I pulled the flywheel off to check the exciter and everything looks really clean, magnets look near brand new. I hooked up a multimeter set at 600 AC Volts to the exciter wires going towards the CDI, whilst cranking it reads up to 080ACV, I’m unsure if this is a good reading or not. What do you guys think it could be? Any advice will be greatly appreciated as this is starting to get very annoying.
