Tohatsu M30-A2 carb question

I have an M30-A2 currently mounted on my boat. I also have an M25-C2 laying around. Can swap the M25-C2 carb with the carb in the M30-A2? The float pin in the M30 seems to be getting stuck and will likely need replacing, but the M25 runs fine, I was hoping to save the trouble of tearing down the carb and instead just be able to swap them. I don't have parts catalogs that go back to the 30A2 (only go back 20 years, to 1992, in that category), so don't 100% know for sure. The same carb kit fits all these, from the 25B through the 30A4 carb, so they should interchange OK. Keep in mind that if you de-tune to 25, you may want to re-adjust the timing back to 20 degrees max advance, That aside, if you will be taking the carb off anyway, why not just disassemble and clean it, and if needed get a new needle (or kit) in it, and be done with it?
